Maintenance

Care and maintenance:

For daily care, use a firmly wrung damp cloth and mild soapy water if necessary.
To maintain a natural, smooth wooden finish that is durable and resistant to the light, humidity, and temperature conditions of your home, we recommend treating all furniture surfaces with oil three to four times a year. Tabletops and other surfaces in daily use may need treating with oil more frequently.
Apply the oil with a soft, lint-free cloth along the grain and wipe away any surplus oil with a dry cloth. Protect floors and clothes and air the room to remove the smell of oil. Used cloths should be discarded, because oil remains can self-ignite.
If the grain has risen and the furniture seems rough, before treating it with oil, you can lightly sand along the grain with fine sandpaper (grade 240-320) – remember to wipe away the wood dust before treating with oil as described above.
You can buy natural oil (Boiled linseed oil) in ordinary shops, DIY stores, for example, or ask your local furniture dealer.
