As we begin to prep for Halloween and Christmas (the two most enjoyable times of year), it won’t be long before we find ourselves looking ahead to 2026 and the interior design trends set to shape our homes. From reimagined textures to bold statements, the upcoming year promises comfort, creativity, and conscious living. Whether you’re planning a small refresh or a full home makeover, these design elements will help you stay ahead of the curve and design a space that feels fresh, functional and future-proof.

Sustainable Materials

If you’ve been following us for some time, you’ll know the importance of sustainability and the circular economy. Shoppers are now making more environmentally conscious decisions, and this is reflected more and more in retail with a greater number of sustainable choices now available to consumers. Knowing your item has been made using materials that would have otherwise been disposed of has a positive impact on the environment, and it’s an interesting talking point too when guests are visiting your home. One of our favourite dining collections uses repurposed materials – Ladder. The entire Ladder range, including the dining table pictured above, has been crafted using reclaimed Cashew wood, allowing shoppers to invest in something durable, timeless, and most importantly, eco-friendly. As the trend of being environmentally conscious grows, sustainable furnishings will become a staple in homes by 2026. So, now’s the time to start shopping for cotton textiles, solar-powered lighting, and recycled furnishings.

Retro Resurgence

It’s looking like the New Year will bring more than just an expected warm, earthy colour palette; it’s bringing a mix of bold, eclectic decor too. If you’re someone who wants to showcase your personality in the home instead of reflecting a minimalist interior, then this is what you’ve been waiting for. In 2026, the focus lies with 1970s decor, which mixes bold patterns and vibrant colours. Think mustard yellow meets teal blue, but it’s not just restricted to those shades; this trend is all about embracing change, personality, and history while being unafraid to mix and match textiles and patterns to create a truly unique space. The Genoa above, upholstered in a gorgeous dark blue velvet, is perfectly representative of this new interior trend, allowing you to bring strong colours to an interior that perhaps was lacking over the last number of years.

Multifunctional Spaces

With the lack of housing supply worldwide and increasing prices, it’s no surprise that we’re seeing homes and the rooms within them become more than their initial or intended purpose. The pandemic was another reason why one space couldn’t stay as one space. In many cases, a living room also became an at-home office, and the bedroom needed to function as a gym. This change meant revisiting some of our beloved items of furniture and perhaps even swapping them for smaller versions or ones that offered more. In 2026, this trend is making a resurgence, making us reconsider what we plan on bringing into our homes in the New Year and reassessing what we already have. Instead of a sofa, choose a sofa bed; rather than choosing a standard bed frame, pick an ottoman with underneath storage. Our latest favourite multi-functional piece is a storage bed that offers plenty of space for keeping everything from clothing to extra bed sheets tucked away and out of sight. The Lancelot Ottoman Bed pictured above combines the bold colour set to trend next year, as well as the multifunctional element, allowing you to get more from a standard item of furniture.

Layered Lighting

Lighting tends to be an afterthought for so many when it comes to interior design. Still, if you have experience in the industry, you’ll know that lighting can play a huge role. In 2026, we’re not just seeing a focus on one particular type of lighting; it’s all about layered lighting and incorporating various types in one space to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. Floor lamps, table lamps, and ceiling statement lamps should all be incorporated in one room to enhance the comfort in the space. The Leanne Lighting Collection features a floor lamp which pair beautifully with the Karina Table Lamp if you love to match, and both feature beautiful, contemporary glass shades with antique bronze bases. Of course, there isn’t a need to match; incorporating different light styles into a room only proves to enhance a space and create visual interest.

Statement Pieces

It’s surprising what a statement accessory can do for a room. Whether it’s a hallway that’s bland and uninviting, a living room that’s uninspired, or a dining room that’s function over form, an accessory is the perfect solution. The Lifted II Framed Canvas above is just one striking art piece that forms part of our large collection of wall decor. With gold accents, abstract design, and a cityscape skyline, it will instantly bring visual interest and bold design to any interior space. Thankfully, statement pieces such as wall art are all the rage in 2026, and while we’ve always prioritised the importance of smaller accessories, it seems the interior Gods are placing high value on these smaller home decor items.

Including some or all of these interior trends over the next few months will mean you stay ahead of the curve and have a home that’s bang on trend for 2026.
