Therapy-Style Seating
Living rooms in 2027 are fast becoming a therapy space, an area in which to unwind in the evening and clear our minds after a long, hard day at work. TV is almost becoming a thing of the past....almost. Entertainment walls are an incredibly popular addition to modern sitting room designs, and while they still have their place, recessed into the wall, they're not a dominant feature sitting on a TV stand out from the wall anymore. Instead, the current generation is focusing on bringing an element of zen into their living spaces in 2027. Rather than large, plush corner sofas designed to facilitate staring at a screen for hours on end, long, low, Chesterfield-style seating is being favoured. While this new trend focuses entirely on small side tables with a recessed surface expected to house a variety of typical square-shaped board games, you could always introduce a small side table just big enough for one board game instead. This leaves the table open to being used for other things too - like a cup of tea, for instance. Alternatively, you could invest in a nest of tables, which again, could be used for a variety of things and can be easily stored away when not in use. Glossy Furniture
Just like with our makeup looks, the glazed look is in! In 2027, in the furniture and accessory industries, we're moving away from matte materials and finishes and gravitating towards glossy appearances.
