The festive season might seem like a lifetime away to some, but here at EZ Living Furniture, we believe it’s never too early to start planning your Christmas decor. Unlike other holidays which tend to stick with the same bunny theme or spooky vibe, Xmas tends to change its trends year on year. In 2023, we embraced royal blue, metallics, neutrals, and forest green, will it be the same this year? Let’s find out! In this latest EZ Living Furniture blog, you'll discover the colours and trends you should follow for Christmas 2024.

Pink Christmas Baubles at EZ Living Furniture.

Pink Palace

First up is a surprising Christmas trend that focuses on the colour pink. We reckon this theme may or may not be a result of the recent Greta Gerwig Barbie movie, but we’re not complaining either way. Barbie’s recent resurgence has awoken a love of pink in us all and while the trend focused primarily on the fashion scene at first, it has since been confirmed that home decor and specifically Christmas decorations will be “Barbie-fied” in 2024. Instead of specific Barbie-themed baubles and ribbons, we say capitalise on the colour pink as a whole this holiday season. You might already have some pink baubles, garlands, or wreaths hanging around from before or party decor that can be easily repurposed. If not, there’s so much to choose from at EZ Living Furniture (just look at our beautiful Pink Glimmer Bauble on the left above)! To embrace the Pink Palace Xmas Theme of 2024, we’re urging you to experiment with pink tinsel, pink baubles, pink ornaments, even pink feather boas, and if you’re feeling brave enough….a fully pink Christmas tree! Mix and match with different shades of pink to create a real statement this Xmas. The main goal here is to create a glamorous and eye-catching display.

Red Candy Cane Themed Christmas at EZ Living Furniture.

Candy Cane Lane

Candy Cane Lane is all about embracing the traditional red and white colours of Christmas. This theme has been around for quite some time, but every year it seems to resurface with a surprisingly new appeal. One thing that remains constant year after year is the importance this trend places on stripes. Candy canes are this trend’s main inspiration source, so introducing this theme to your home is as easy as can be. First, purchase a few dozen candy canes to decorate your tree with, then look for complimentary items to sit alongside it to enhance the overall look. Prioritise red and white stripes when it comes to your Christmas figurines and baubles. Luckily, these aren’t rare Christmas colours, so you’ll have lots to choose from. Our Jingle Glitter Gnome is a relatively new addition to our collection this year and we expect it to be a big hit for candy cane theme lovers because of its red and white striped legs. Alternatively, one of our traditional red and white nutcrackers would also do the trick!

Green and gold Christmas theme at EZ Living Furniture.

Metallic Movement

Champagne gold and forest green are bang on trend for Christmas 2024! So, if you’re tired of the usual red and green combo and want to add a little drama, elegance, and richness to it, then this trend is the perfect one for you. Deep emerald green is making a big splash this year. It brings a bold and sophisticated vibe to a space when used on its own, and when paired with precious metals such as gold or brass, it helps to balance the richness of the forest green colour. Together, this combination can help to bring brightness and a hint of glam to your space for Christmas 2024. The O Holy Night Baubles at EZ Living Furniture perfectly reflect this trend and would make a great addition to any Christmas tree. If you want to double down on this luxurious colour combination, then try to incorporate some texture to it by investing in some green velvet or satin ribbon to enhance gift wrapping.

Gingerbread men.

Gingerbread Glamour

Gingerbread Glamour is set to be huge for Christmas 2024. If the other trends listed aren’t calling to you, then maybe this theme is the one for you. Gingerbread Glamour is all about embracing the traditional activities associated with the festive season i.e. baking gingerbread men, creating homemade decorations with orange slices, making salt dough Christmas ornaments….you get the idea. This trend is all about bringing that rich-brown baked colour into your Xmas decor. One simple way to do this is by investing in some gingerbread houses and figurines for your home. These ornaments are incredibly versatile and will look well in a living room, kitchen, dining room, or bedroom. If you’d prefer to introduce this theme to your home in a more subtle way, you can use elements from it instead. Introduce the orange-brown or bronze colour using ribbons, wrapping paper, or our Auld Lang Syne Baubles. After all, your decorations don’t have to be gingerbread men to represent a gingerbread theme. You can still hint at the trend without going “full gingerbread” using nutcrackers and soldiers in a beautiful brown or bronze shade.

Tartan Christmas table decor at EZ Living Furniture.

Tartan Twist

Tartan has a long history and association with Christmas. The beautiful red, white, and green striped pattern is regularly used for table decor, Christmas trees, and even nightwear. There’s something cosy and familiar about it which is why we love to see its return. But while tartan is set to be popular this year, it’s not how we remember it. Tartan has taken on a whole new look this year and instead of the traditional red, white, and green, you’ll find blue, green, and gold accents in its place. This new blue-green pattern is an unexpected trend, but we won’t lie, its boldness and beauty are something we are fully willing to embrace for 2024. If you find it difficult to find accessories with this new tartan pattern, you can create the same effect by mixing and matching baubles in the popular blue, green, and gold shades. And we just so happen to have plenty of baubles (in various colours) to choose from!

Woodland Christmas table decor at EZ Living Furniture.

Woodland Wonder

Woodland Wonder is just how you’d expect from its title. This theme features wooden elements to represent a “traditional vibe” but also has nature-inspired accents such as red berries, pine cones, and deer. The woodland theme isn’t new to Xmas, in fact, it has been trending for many years now, so it’s safe to assume that it will remain on trend for years to come. Our Berry & Pine Wreath & Garland (above) are back due to popular demand this year. These items perfectly represent the Woodland Wonder theme and would make a great addition to any external or internal doors, dining tables, or mantlepieces.
